260 remington freebore

Just a quick question here fellas. What free bore lengths are you fellas using in your 260 Remington's? I'm gonna replace a reamer and I am a bit unsure on what free bore to use. bullets of course will be 120 to the 140? I'm thinking somewhere around .100 would be suitable but I've never had or shot a 260 so I just don't know. thanks for the help. Lee

I have a CBI barrel that is there 260 Match chamber and it has .298 neck and .160 freebore. It shoots the 142 SMKs pretty good. I think if you are going to feed with a magazine you need to be around that .100 freebore mark.

A .160 to .170 freebore will allow all but the Hornady 147 ELD Match bullet. It has an inordinately long bearing surface and a .190 would not be out of the question>>>>for that bullet. However, that would just about negate the use of all other 6.5's.. So, I would go with anything from .160-.170..

Mag fed? No longer than 150 if you want to feed it from a wyatts box. 180 for the 140s. As you know, there isnt one thats going to work with 120 and 140s.
