260 Remington for 1000 yard Competition

Thanks to all for your reply.

It looks like the Sierra 142 MatchKIng is a favorite bullet for this application. I notice the Sierria manual also lists a 140 and a 150 6.5 mm MatchKing. I am wondering why three bullets so close to the same weight. Anyone know the history of this?

The 142 is the best bullet of the 3. The 140 is so-so for consistency and the 150 many of us haven't been able to get it to shoot very well.

44gr H4831 under and 140 class bullet is a known accuracy load. It has worked in every barrel and gun I've owned, plus many others.

Though the 260AI is worth it if you want real 1000y performance!
