260 rem match reamer??????

I would like to order a 260 Rem match reamer.

Can somebody give me some suggestions on throat length and neck dia and other important sizes.

I want to accomplish following goals.

cartridge overall length 2.800 with 123 Scenar bullet.

Base brass is Lapua both 243 and 308
With the 243 brass I want a minimum no turn neck. When I neck down the 308 brass it is going to be thicker and then I want to be able to neck turn the brass for perfect fit. So I have a match chamber an can neck turn if I want to.

If anybody has done this please give me some advise, all info is welcome

Get some 243 lapua brass and the bullet you wish to shoot. Seat a couple of said bullet and send off to your reamer maker with instructions. Pray and don't hold your breath.

For Lapua 243 brass, you will need a .294" to .295" chamber neck diameter. Lapua 243 brass necked up with a bullet seated has a loaded neck diameter of .293", most lots. Some run .292".

Lapua 308 brass necked down will give a loaded neck diameter of .296" to .297". Standard saami 260 neck is .299" as far as I can remember.

I had a little better result with necking down 308 and turning the necks to .294" loaded round neck diameter.

The doughnut issue IS real and I had a little more of a problem with it with necked up 243 cases.

Now I have some starting point for discussing the reamer with Dave Kiff.
What throat length did you use?

Criver that would be the easiest, but unfortunately I live in Belgium and sending some bullets isn't that simple...

Not sure on the throat length, I do not have the reamer handy right now. But, a 123 Scenar seated with the base of the bearing surface at the neck shoulder juntion had the bullet at around 2.800" OAL which is great for a Rem700. The 139/142 needs about a .070" longer throat to seat the same in the neck. The OAL will be equal amount longer though.
