260 Rem + Berger 130 VLD Match Grade didn't work out

I have a shilen select match 8 twist on a savage 12 action and could not find a powder combination that would group the 130 vlds.

I tried h H 4350, RL 17, and W760. Nothing worked.

Anybody been able to shoot these in their 260? thanks rc

Yes. H4831sc.

I tried H4350 as well and it must have been too fast for the application out of my 28" LW barrel. H4831sc settled things down for me, but I still get better groups with 123gr Scenars.......I think it's just that the shape of that bullet makes for better seating in my setup - I get less runout.

what speeds are you trying them at? 2920 seems about right for the Berger 130 VLD

What's your rifle's neck and what loaded neck you were using? Were you jumping or jamming? With Berger VLDs I've always found them to run best jammed.

Was it wild grouping or always up down or sideways? What range were you trying to group them at? Seems like VLDs often have the same groups at 100 yards as they do at 300 yards for me.
