Dude shooting is a hobby which relies apon disposable income so who cares how long a barrel lasts. For me handloading and experimenting with interior ballistics, comparing powders, cartridges, and accuracy is all part of the fun for me. Barrel life is just one more element that can be examined. I have a 22 CHeetah built on a Cooper 22 by Steve Kostanich that is insanely accurate for its supposed "overbore" nature as is a 6.5 STW I have built by Rifles Inc.

Have fun,

Tim

Nothing is ever "pointless".

The "point" of building such a thing could be just to be silly, outrageous or just because you can.

If the point is to build a rifle useful for something like target shooting or hunting, I do not think it will meet those goals.

I can be done very easily.
There are powders that will work.
It would be "different".

Order the reamer
Start with any "magnum" action. One built for 300 RUM is best.
Get an appropriate magnum profile barrel. I prefer Palma or Sendero profiles.
Fit the barrel and chamber.
Get a bushing die for 26 Nosler and 6mm bushings http://www.midwayusa.com/product/371413/redding-type-s-bushing-3-die-neck-sizer-set-26-nosler

Load and shoot, carefully.
