257 WBY Mag and N565

With 100 grain bullets in my 257, I have used IMR 4350, RL22, IMR 7828, H4831, IMR 4831, maybe one or two others. Achieved good accuracy with all of them. Mostly have used RL22 for best combination of accuracy and velocity.
Those two powders will certainly work, but obviously only testing in your rifle will tell you if they will be accurate loads.

I used Re#22 instead ,Started at 66 grs avg of 3,440 fps and ended with 70grs with AVG 3650 FPS. 26" 10" twist Bartlein bbl ,all groups under 3/4 MOA at 100yds

Larry, the 500 series of powder burn very, very hot.

R#22 and IMR 7828 have worked very very well with the 100g, at 3600 fps, fed 215's. Zero freebore-.030 chambers are at 3800 on 26" barrels.

100g Hornady's performed very well on deer at those speeds, so did 100g NOsler ballistic tips.

We had a stand set up on a power line here in the South, had a food plot planted. A doe stepped out at 325 yds and I shot her in the neck, using the old Burris 6x24 Signature scope. Half an hour later, another larger doe walked out and started licking the first doe, I dropped her right on top of the first doe, another neck shot. Legal to get two does per day at that time.

Will N560 or evebn N565 work in the 257WBY Mag pushing Barns 100 gr TTSX BT bullets ?

Here the question is about the Barnes TTSX bullet not the standard cup and core bullets so often mentioned in the responses. The Barnes 100 gr. TTSX bullet is nearly 0.200" longer than the other cup and core bullets. This makes a difference in the burn rate of the powders used.

VVN-565 is actually cooler burning than Re-22 is by the numbers. In fact, according to the testing, it's in the same wheelhouse (someone else used this term) as H-4831 and a few others as well.

I tested the 100 TTSX in the .257 WBY but with more freebore and a longer OAL. I ended up with a chamber length of 3.340 which is a standard for the belted magnums. Given that this is a Barnes bullet I was jumping in the neighborhood of 0.040-0.050" with good results.

VVN-565 is very nearly perfect for an almost full case and the accuracy necessary for a hunting bullet. Others can be tested:

Norma MRP
Re-25
H-1000
Ramshot Magnum
+ a couple of others

You need to decide on the chamber and possibly discuss this with your gunsmith. Making a couple of dummy cartridges can help with the visualization.

Enjoy the process! :)

I know this is not a direct answer to your question, I shoot a Weatherby Mark V in 257 Wby. It is a hunting rifle, so the most shooting I have done with it is when I sighted it in. I've never worried about burning out the barrel. I don't ever remember taking more than one shot on mule deer and antelope. My load is 75.5 gr. Ramshot Magnum, 100 gr. Sierra BT @ 3450 fps. It is a very accurate load in my rifle.
