The only class a magazine is required is in the IR50 Sporter class. Even there we all single load the action as the magazines aren't necessarily made to chamber from. They often don't line up well at all & can possibly shave lead off as it enters the chamber, hence why we single load. The only one's using the magazines are new to the sport & don't know any better. Or old & stubborn. !(no offense meant to those whom either fits)!I am surprised that the ARA and IR 50/50 venues allow magazines. This makes a very big difference and almost like cheating.
Mark,I have one and it’s a very good shooter.. don’t shoot it too much because the cost of ammo..
it usually places in the top three at ARA or IR 50/50 events.
advantage is the the ability to use a magazine while others are single loading.
The design of the double tenon allows me to use an integral sleeve into a barrel block.
Here is a pic of my gun;
Thank you,Others have been asking how this gun is put together.
I’m an old retired Boeing vibration engineer. Thought I could figure out how to suppress vibration to improve performance in one of these rimfire benchrest guns. So this gun is a result...
The Stiller 2500XR action has two barrel tenons. A 4” stainless sleeve threads into the outer tenon of the action and is used to attach to the front carbon fiber stock (via barrel block). The barrel is a .850” straight diameter and threads into the action (inner tenon). the barrel is free floated.
The rear stock is attached to the action with two bolts.
The scope mount is only attached with the two front mounting screws and pins in the action and rear is floating..
So the whole gun pivots on the front of the action.. the outer sleeve (4”) is an extension of the action. The barrel is free floated.
The rear of the action takes some of the load but does not impact the group size.
So, hopefully this answers some questions..
