250 ackley conversion

Can anyone recommend a gunsmith who will rechamber my 250 savage to a 250 ackley improved.

It would likely help if you said what action and if it is just the barrel or barreled action. As far as going to the AI, you wish you did it years ago. The .250Sav is a great caliber on its own, the AI is just that much better.

Remington 700 SA trued action with. K&P cut rifled very heavy barrel.

Kevin Cram, Montour Rifles in Danville
numerous good smiths in Pa.

I have a 250 Savage AI if you want to just keep your current rifle and get an Ackley. I have dies and brass

SSK did mine years ago. I don't know if they still have the reamers.

It may depend on how much wear is in the used barrel. Some won't touch a worn barrel.
