25 br or dasher

Cant see that the BR case would have enough energy to get the job done cleanly unless sub 150 yards or headshooting.

should be close or better to a 250-3000savage in performance...ofcourse you also gotta keep in mind you will proly be able to get you loads hotter than most factory ammo. surely you should be able to reach atleast 2800fps and proly closer to 3000fps. tht is plenty for deer and antelope.

Many Deer and Antelope have fallen at surprisingly long ranges with the good old .250 Sav. I killed 5 Deer with mine this year w/ 100gr. SGK loaded w/ H4895 at 3000fps. All complete penetration on nice sized deer, all just as dead and did the same thing as they have done w/ a 7-08, .308, 30-06, .300 win mag, 12ga slug, .357 mag pistol, .44 mag. pistol, etc. that I have shot them with over the past 25 years. They bucked real hard, dug their feet in bolted for 20-35 yds and were dead as a door knob unless a major bone was hit then they went right down and flopped around a bit and died.
I think ur .25 br. or whatever you call it would do the same thing as it should drive the 87gr-100gr. bullet that you use (no bonded, etc. bullet needed at these velocites) at close to the same velocites. I cannot imagine if the 100gr. SGK I used was going 2750/ 2800 fps to start out with that the deer would have known it or done anything different- maybe a little smaller exit wound/ hole, but thats about it. No theory here, real world woods and field hunting here in NC.

Come on... everybody knows that 100gr bullets bounce off deer!!! Plus the bullet needs to be going at least 3k. I shot a deer @ 130yards once with a 30/30, it was so slow the bullet didn't even bounce back. Just knocked the dust off the deer, then slid off the hide::)

It amazes me that most people think you have to have a huge gr+ bullet at hyper volocities to kill deer. I have killed truckloads of deer with 223 & 6br. Poke a hole in the deer were you would with a bow & you will have a dead deer... @ any real world range (providing you can get the bullet in heart/lungs at such range). Real deer are never as tough as internet deer. I would hunt with a 25br and know I had more than enough gun.

Small calibers are NOT marginal deer rounds. They are just a bad idea for marginal shot placement. Make & TAKE good shots; it will be plenty.
