Your primer pockets could tell you if you're too hot. My last 223AI could get 3,050 with 77SMK and AA2520. That was from a 22" Brux 8 twist.
After fire form the WW brass was good for two firings before it wouldn't hold a primer. Primers weren't piercing and case heads weren't blowing up in my face but, in reality, it was too hot.
Another thing that must be considered is the personality of IMR8208. It is the one powder where, even though the last time things were good, small environmental or load changes can and will cause disastrous results.
