.25/284 load help

Just got new toy 25/284 in a grizzly and looking forward to getting to range.
Was told use some where around 51-52 gr. RL 22 115gr vlds. Does this sound in the ballpark???

That seems a bit much for a starting place....
I use 49.0 grains of H-4831 SC with the 115 VLD's in a XP-100...

Ya ditto. I'd start somewhere close to max charge for 25-06. Load 1 round at a time up in 1/2 gr increments and go shoot them. If you can seat them at lands so you can find your max charge with bullet touching lands. That will give you a basis to start off. That's how I've worked all my loads. Shoot them until you either get the velocity you want or start seeing pressure signs. Remember pressure signs start to shoe them sometimes go away if your low on charge. If you get cratered primes shoot again unless it gets worse. My .02. That's how i do it.

Also. Don't use the bergers. Use a different bullet. Something cheaper to find your ceiling. I used nosler 115 hunting bullets. Took me 10 shots then I started working my load with bergers
