25-06 AI / 135 VLDS load data

Looking for a starting load for a new build, 25-06 AI with a 7 twist pushing the Berger 135’s or hornady 134. Any info would be great. Thanks

Use a medium load for that bullet for 25/06 data it will form fine. Remember it’s not an AI until it’s formed so just use 25/06 data and you will be fine

Absolutely agree, the first load in an AI chamber does not have to be a max load in order to blow out the brass. I have formed brass in several AI rifles with just a good medium load. However, it may not be as fully formed as it will be after another firing or two with the AI load. But, this seems to be the norm with most any cartridge.

Bill,
You ever use false shoulder or jam the bullets?…
I have found on P.O Ackley chamber it’s not necessary but that’s just my observation. Of course I have on wildcats but the AI’s that I have owned hasn’t needed it. Your thoughts?…

With the 260AI & 243AI I have not seen the need for a false shoulder. I just prep my Lapua or Peterson brass by running an expander in the necks to lighten the neck tension and make sure the mouth is round, chamfer & deburr and load. Normally I don't jam on the first load.

The only two I still have is a .257 Robert’s AI and a 6 REM AI but your methods are the same as mine. I actually don’t hit rod my AI’s after there formed unless that’s where it’s most accurate, it’s not why I improve them, I do it for case life mostly and I hate trimming lol

Yea the trimming or absence of it is icing on the cake for me and I don't run mine at full throttle either unless I have to go there for best accuracy.

So I used 30-06ai brass that I only shot once and necked down. Still use a medium load for the heavies?
Well if they’re already blown out to AI you can use AI data but I would start low and work a ladder up. Also check a loaded round and make sure you have enough neck clearance for your chamber. Good luck and let us know how she does
