243AI Twist 95gr berger's

Hi,

I am from South Africa. I am 5500ft above sea level. This will be a 28" Pac-nor in .243 AI

I am shooting 70gr Ballistic tips right now and would like to shoot them in the future as well.

What is the minimum twist to run 95gr Berger vld's?

I will not be shooting any heavier bullets. I have a 0 free bore reamer. Tight neck non turn.

Kindly thank You
Chris

i am not sure the minimum twist needed, but i shoot the 95 grain bergers out of a 9 twist you could probably get them going out of a 10 twist if that's what you have now

Chris, my .243AI has a 1in9 twist and will stabilize bullets up to 107 Gr. Sierra's . I've shot the 95Berger VLD's out of mine and they shot quite well, along with 87Gr. V-Max Nosler's. Berger's website recommends a nine twist for their 95Gr' VLD's. Their 90 Match BT's shoot extremely well from my nine twist as well as my friends 10 twist. Hope this helps, good luck.

Chris,

I have shot them in a 10 tw 6mmAI, but my 10tw 6BR will not shoot them. A 9 may be best.

I'm shooting the 95's out of a rechambered Rem factory varmint barrel. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it's a 9.25 twist. They shoot very well in that barrel.
