243ai loads

I am waiting on a 243ai barrel and don't have any load data.I don't know why I could not start with mid range 243 loads and work up.I have always heard it takes a stout load to properly form the brass. What is the best way to get started. As this is my first ai i could use any ideas i can get. Thanks

What weight bullets???

I`m looking into the same cal. with 105 hybrids, so I`ll be watching for info too.....

Phil.

To start with any weight for fireforming. Then I will be looking for loads for the 105a-maxs to the 75g pills.I have sent them a dummy round with the 105g a-max on it.I have a lot of 58g v-maxs so that is what I would like to fireform with.

Fireforming you'll shoot a standard case in a chamber that's larger than standard. You don't back off on the load. Whatever the reloading book has for a max load, start there and work your way up until best accuracy. My fireform load was a 70gr TNT and 48+ gr. of W760. Very accurate and much faster than a std. .243. Perfectly formed case every time.

Thanks ackman.I thought that's what I had read before. How much after max do you go on the average.I know all guns will be different but just curios how far past max are you getting?
