243 WSSM down loaded..

Ok, found a great deal on a Browning A-Bolt in 243 WSSM. I know its a barrel burner, but could I load 115grn VLD's down to around 2800fps for 500 yard target shooting and keep a barrel life like a normal 243?

115gr bullets require at least a 1:8 twist barrel and most times faster, more on the side of 1:7.5

What does the Browning have for a twist rate??

Im Guessing 1:10. Nothing even near what you will need for a 105 to 115 class bullet.

Barrels are the disposable part of the gun. Just like the glass bottle your beer comes in. Burn that one up and put a new one on. Most importantly, have fun doing it.

Think I might just apss on the rifle and stick with something more conventional. If im going to rebarrel and change bolt face, i'll make my 300 win into something interesting. 300 hulk, 300wsm, 7wsm. I dont know.
