just got a new browning x-bolt in 243 win; got the dies for it, and loaded up some new loads;
Man, it shoot lites out;
my first load was an 80 gr. sierra blitz king in front of 40.0 gr. of IMR4064;
just under 3310 mv; less than 1.2" bullet spread with 3 shots;
I shot 50 of this round, and averaged .87 - 1.3 spread;
Then I went to 100 gr. Hornady interlock BTSP bullet, in front of 36.0 grains of same IMR4064 powder, at 2970 mv, and still shot less than 1.5" groups at 100 yds;
Then I went to 200 yds; The 80 gr. shot a bit flatter; (not by much) over the 100 gr.,
then the 80 gr. ran out of steam;
at 300 yds, ( and even at 200 yds,) the 100 gr. just took over;
Here's the deal; At Range, BC is very important; it comes with weight and length of bullet, compared to it's diameter;
the best weight, style, and length of the bullet you want to shoot, for the diameter you are shooting will determine the best BC:
