243 win loads using 95gr berger vld

Hey everybody, I am looking for some accuracy load information using the 95 grain berger vld being shot out of a 243 win. I have the load information from berger, but wanted to know what any of you are using. Thanks in advance for any information.

Well, just started with a 243 not long ago. Tried to force feed it cheap powder and pills I had in bulk so as to not spend more cash on a factory gun. So So results is what I got.
Found a 1lb jug of IMR-4350 on my shelf. Decided to see if the "proper" powder would work better. It does!!!
Pulled some nodes out an Audette Ladder test using 80gn Bergers. Tried them today at 200yds.
High end node is the winner. Five into .643 at 200 is darn good for a factory barrel. ;D

Of course I'll tinker with the charge weight and seating depths a bit but it looks like I'll be buying another jug of powder.
4350 should be better suited for the 95's than the 80's, try some

Just loaded up som H-4350, hopefully I will get to try it out tomorrow if the wind doesn't get to bad. Thanks for the info.

Just an FYI. I was quite a bit higher than book data with my "top node".
Hodgen does not have data for IMR with the 80 gn pills.
Most other data I found was very very conservative. I'm glad I did not stick by that data.
Highest velocity I reached with HBN coated 80 bergs was 3608fps. No severe pressure signs but theres little doubt I was creating it ;)
Top node was at 3540fps.
Never tried H-4350. Thats just one of those burn rate areas I've never needed yet.

Good Luck finding no wind. Seems to be in abundance this year ;D

I used 46gr n560 with gold medal primers and seated 30 thou from the lands.
I could only reach 2809fps out a 20" barrel so stopped using them because they didnt expand unless they hit bone because of the low fps.
I know this is only 3 shots but they did shoot in the .3's @ 100yds

H4350 is a good starting point, but you never mentioned your rifle twist...

Because of the extra length of VLDs you will need a 9 twist barrel to generate the idea gyroscopic stability factor. Failing that you might be better of with Bergers 88gr FB

I am running 45.3 RL-22 Rem brass CCI br primers .010 off through a factory Savage 26" varmint barrel right at 3200 according to my Chronograph. I am curious why people don't seem to use the RL powders as much as the Hodgdon? That is pretty close to the max from the Berger info.
