243 Win and 243AI Twist ??

Wondering what twist rate is best in these two cartridges. Want a twist that will handle the whole spectrum of bullets from 60 grians to the 100 grainers. Appreciate the help.

I have 243ai with an 1 in 8 twist that shoot 70 to 115 grains.

The faster,the better. Fast will shoot everything,slower will only shoot the lighter bullets well. I have a 1-12 and a 1-10 twist 243 barrels. 100 gr. bullets are my limit in the 10,85's in the 12.

An 8 TW will shoot most bullets out there, but it will limit the speed of the lighter bullets. Unless you want to shoot the 105 gr VLD's class of bullets, a 10 tw is a good mid of the road pick.

I like to twist for what bullet I am going to shoot. As long as you know what the barrel is going to do up front. My first gun I built, was A 6mmAI - 10 tw worked great. That was before I knew of the world of long range shooting and VLD bullets, then I need a 8 tw.

Go with an 8tw 243AI, then you can shoot anything you want to.
