.243 Win. 65 gr. VMax loads?

Hey all! Was wondering if any of you folks have any good loads for the 65 gr. VMax in a .243 Winchester? Tried them on top of 48 gr. of H414 and they grouped ok jumping them .005" but grouped horribly jamming them .010". Tried Rem. 9 1/2 Mag primers and std. WLR primers, didn't seem to make much of a difference there. All of this is with virgin Fed. brass. Barrel is a McGowen 1:12 twist 26" long on a Savage Mod. 12 Varmint action. Also, these bullets have a different ogive compared to the other ballistic tips I have used, Nosler or Sierra. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

To start I don't use Fed brass but I do shoot a lot of 65gr V-maxs.
Try 41gr of Varget, Win primers, 2.700" OAL or .010" off the lands. - I only use Lapua brass, but try the Fed after you've sorted them by wt.
This load works great in several of mine and my friends 243's.

Start off at 45.0g of H414 and work your way up, your accuracy load will be within 2.0g of a max load of your rifle.

Keith and Mark, thanks! Keith, so if I start at 45.0 gr. of H414 I will find the sweet spot before I get to 46.0 gr. of H414? According to the Hodgdon book, max charge of H414 with this bullet is 48.0 gr. thats why I ask. What primer are you using also Keith? I have Rem. 9 1/2 Mag primers and standard Win Large Rifle primers at my disposal. Thanks!

This exact load in federal brass shoots 1 hole in my Savage 110. I seat .020 off the lands. It is devastating to coyotes.
