.243 win 105 Amax

I would like a hot load for my 243 win. I'm using a 27" Hart 1-8 twist and Nosler casings with Federal match primer at the moment..So what would getter zipping?

Sounds great, I have a lot of RL25 for my 115g Burgers..My question is, I read faster loads for 107g and 115g IMR even posts faster loads for the 107g. bullets whats up?

My load for the 115g burger VLD that I worked up to while doing my ladder test was 46.5g of RL-25 2995 fps average...I would expect some hotter loads for the 105's..

Today I took the 105 Amax for a ride with RL25. It was 35 degrees out and I worked it up to 47.5g of powder and the crono reported back to me an average of 3028 fps.. I liked the consistency I was getting 3028 to 3030 was pretty good to me.. 27" Hart with Nosler casing and Federal match primer..

You should be leery of any good load developed in the winter time, if you plan on shooting it in the summertime.. Just be careful is all I'm saying.....

Give Retumbo a try, that long barrel would give great velocity and it is not temperature sensitive. Data on Hodgdons website is impressive to say the least. T.S.

Retumbo I will, whats a good starting point? I had no pressure signs with the RL25 but I could see the hot weather showing different results.

I looked at Hodgdon load data and it shows Retumbo at 49c grains 2986 fps.. Pressure looks good and yes with my barrel length I should get better results....

Savage model 12 BVSS- 43.6gr of RL 22- 105Amax -3050fps-Norma Brass
Remington 700- 43.5 of RL22- 105Amax- not chronoed yet-Lapua brass
Both guns are extremely accurate with these loads

No. I havent pushed them any farther than this. I have not noticed any pressure signs in my rifles with these loads. How hard are u looking to push em??

3000 fps is good to stabilize them at distance, I'm just looking to get the best speed with the lowest possible pressure ..

I've tried H1000, H4350 and RL25. Looks like Retumbo is nex,t I also like VVN560 on my 95g bullets but that probably is temp sensitive also. Haven't ever used RL22.

Im not sure u r interested in dropping down to the 95's but from what i have been reading a lot of guys like the xtra speed with a small bc loss. Then ur not beating ur brass and barrel as bad. Just a thought

I have roughly 500 Amax left .. I do like the 95g bullets a lot..I just read about speeds around 3200 fps and think it would or should be easy to back that down to 3000 fps and be good with pressure
