.243 w/ 105,107,and 115's..HELP

Hi gang.
First post here. Recently started reloading. I have a fast twist, 1:7.5 ) 26' barrel .243 Win. and have a bunch of 105 Amax, 107 SMK's, 115 DTAC's,and 115 VLD's.

My brass is Lapua, primers BR-2...and here is the powders I have on hand:

Retumbo
VV N165
RL19
RL-22
IMR-4350

I have been trying to build up a 600 and 1000yrd load. I have been trying with the 107 SMK's with RL-19. I get a VERY consistent flyer with this combo at any load. It will shoot 4 into a .300 or less group at 100yrds. then a flyer. The flyer comes in randomly...not the last shot.
Is this caused by the powder? Should I try the RL-22?

Today I went out and tried some of the Berger 115 VLD's with RL-22. I get awesome groups...shot a .337 and .307 groups at 100yrds....but it seems VERY slow. I am waiting for a chronograph I orderd.
The great groups come in using 42.2gns of RL-22. Book spec says this is about 2790fps. All the post I see on the net says these bullets should be pushed to 2900+ I went to the max charge and the groups opened up and I was getting slight pressure signs, very light shiny extractor marks).

I was thinking about trying some Retumbo to see if that will help get the speed up and maintain a good group.

Any help/input would be great.

Take care

Get ahold of some reloader 17. German Salazar did an article on this site about it. I am shooting moly coated 105'amaxs at 2950 and have no signs of pressure yet. I am thinking i can run up to around 3100 or so with out too much trouble. I know the 2950 fps load shoots really well and I will be watching to see what I loose in accuracy as I increase the load or gain for that matter
why the 7.5 twist? mine is a 9.25 and i know I cant shoot the 115's but that's OK with me. living 60 miles from Hornady I like helping out the local economy.

I shot my Sako .243 with Retumbo and 105 AMAX. I know it is a compressed load and seated out to the lands. I want to say it was 49ish grs. I will have to check my data in the shop though to be sure. I know that Accurate 3100 was a very close second, FWIW. I will let you know the details tomorrow afternoon when I get off work.

Used 107 MKing and 105 AMax in F Class all last summer in a Savage 12FV. Compressed load of 46.5 gr RX25. Chronod at 3050. Very accurate out to 1000 yards.

BigBamBoo,
I have a .243 Win. varmint rifle that I use in a local Varmint competition. I have settled on Sierra 107 Matchkings and Re 22., at about 3050 fps. I use the word settle because you will shoot your barrel out before you try all the possible combinations.
As far as powder, a faster powder will burn completely and give a consistent push, but possibly not the top velocity. A slower powder will burn longer and give higher velocity, but possibly not consistency. To complicate things, these varmint shoots are up to 600 yds and the wind really moves the bullet, so an extra 100 fps can really make a difference.
The barrel may give out at 1,000 rds, decide on one bullet, one powder, and practice reading the wind. Good luck.
