.243 question

I was wondering if the .243 is inherently accurate like all the sub species of the 6mm? I have never owned a 6mm of any kind, but I'm thinking of adding one to the collection. I will more than likely go with a factory .243, and that's why I'm wondering. Also what kind of range can I expect from one? Something medium length with factory ammo to start???
Thanks in advance

My experience w/ the .243 has been with match loads only,115gr. DTAC @ 2950fps) from a Lija barrel. For what it's worth it shoots into .375" @ 100 yds and about 4-5" @ 600. I know of no factory loads heavier than 100gr. but many folks swear by the .243 for longer range deer/antelope.

have you checked out the 243win. info page on this site, alot of your questions are answered there, with some links to different sites and articles. 243 has low recoil, enough power for deer, antelope, varmints. factory ammo is readily available. 243 is a nice round. get one and have fun... cliffe
