243 brass trimmed too short ?

My wife wanted to help out and trimmed my new batch of Norma 243 too short 2.000 are these useable or did I just loose a hundred bucks? I have a 243 ackley and a standard 243 but not sure what to do with these.

As long as you have enough neck length to firmly hold the bullet I don't see a problem. Just make sure you keep the neck area free of carbon.

No problem at all, so long as you've got the neck tension, just as ar15topgun suggests. Take your wife out to dinner, thank her for trying to help, and teach her a bit about trimming. It'll score points, I promise.

I seem to be seeing a lot of guys obsessing about case length and short trimming lately. It's a safety issue to make sure they don't get too long, but short is just fine. Most manuals list .010" under max length as being a good trim length. They can be trimmed shorter, and many of us do on a regular basis, just to avoid having to trim more frequently. In my case, 2.000" has been my standard trim length for 308 Wins for many years. Ditto for the 5.56mm. There I'll trim down to 1.745" or so, no problem at all. Not the big worry that many seem to think it is right now.

I got all stressed out last fall over trimming my Dasher brass way to short just before the IBS 1K nats...I think I even brought it up on this sight.

They worked out ok.
