243 AI with a .270 neck, a little info please.

I picked up a really nice 243 Ackley with a .270 neck. I didn't catch it right away but cannot get an untrimmed case into the chamber. I have neck turning down without much worry but what do I need for dies? I was looking into a redding Type S bushing sizer die and was just thinking about getting the 243 stuff for my RCBS competition seater. Any thoughts on this? The other road was to just send it to the smith and have it redone in no turn 243 Ackley .

Thanks in Advance

Turn your neck thickness to .0125" for a .268" loaded diameter. Get a .267" bushing in a Redding Type S FL die. If you would like to save a few bucks go with a Forster BR seating die(not Ultra Micrometer as they cost more and don't load better ammo). Be aware there are two .243 Improved cartridges, the Ackley and the Winchester Improved with some small variations in shoulder diameter. FYI, I run a .266 neck on my .243AI. ;)

Be aware there are at least 2 different 243 AI reamers being used. Take a careful measurement behind the shoulder to determine which yours is.
