243 Ackley Improved

Does anyone have a load for the 243 ackley using Winchester 748 and the Sierra 85 gr HPBT bullet? I'm looking for something near maximum. I'm using 37.8 gr but am only getting 3000 fps. I was wondering about how much more I can go with this load. It is the best powder in my rifle.

I'd suggest a slower powder if you want to maximize velocity in the AI.

I agree, and I'd love to do that but my rifle doesn't like slower burning powders. It prints it's best groups with powders like 748 and IMR-3031. I know, it's opposite of the way you would think it would be. Strange rifle!!
As an example, with Hornady's 100 gr sbt it loves IMR-3031 shooting one hole groups.

Thanks a bunch Dave!! Just the info I was looking for. That gives me a much better idea of my upper limit. I'll work upwards toward that slowly. I'll post my results in a couple weeks. Hunting this weekend. Thanks again!!
