The "blue Gun" from week 54 is back again..
Fired a 4 gun 600 yard match at Eastern Nebraska Gun Club on 11-12-05 with the "240NMC" built on the "MAK" Tubegun kit..
Once again the "240NMC" cartridge with a "Cut Rifled barrel" from Steve Satern prevailed again.
Quartering cross winds of 12-16 mph plus nasty gusts were with us all day. I was using Berger 115's this time, 1st time)and with good results. After getting centered on the target I did not click again, i held into the wind no more than a mid ring 10 to end up with 45X of 80 shots with a score of 200 w/12..199 w/9..199 w/14 & 200 w/10 for a total of 798 w/45X.
A 6.5 x 284 beside me held at times in to the 8 ring..I have shot beside 6.5 x 284's the last three times out and 8 points behind was the closest any came to the "240NMC".
My target puller,i found this out latter)didn't move the spotter as long as my shots were in the same spot in the "X" ring..At one time i had 5 consectutive shots in thumb nail size area in the "X" ring, guys this is 600 yds out.....
To say the least, the "240NMC" and Steve's cut rifled barrels are here to stay and keep winning as long as I can read the wind.
Will shoot the Berger 115's all next year and see how my scores compare to 2005's scores. My 2005 score is 20 points down from a possible 7200 total score.
