240 Weatherby Mag load data or quick load help

I am interested in shooting the Berger 87 grain VLD in a 240 WbY Mag. Was looking at H4831 or RL22 powder. Also not sure 215 or 210 primers. Anyone's experience or a quickload printout would be greatly appreciated. Looking for accuracy at top speed. 24 inch tube. Thanks for the help.

Technically, since the program is copyrighted, it is frowned upon by the owner of Quickload to publish his data online. Ask the folks at Snipershide and 24 hour campfire... Yes, it's been done here.

I think that the 87 gr. VLD is a little light for this cartridge given the case volume. I shoot the 105's which I find to be superb for hunting Coues deer and Pronghorn. However, if that's what you want then I suggest using the 210 primers and Re-23 nowadays. Re-22 can be a little inconsistent given temperature fluctuations. Pressure spikes have been observed with some loads under varying temperature ranges. H-4831 is just a tad slow for your combination in my opinion. But you could try some Re-25 if you want a little more velocity, just be sure to test in the temps you will be hunting in. For the ultimate in barrel preservation, VVN-165 is probably the best.

Enjoy your project!

RL 22 and 95 gr Ballistic Tips has worked the best for me in my 240 Wby, a bitchin deer load.
Also have had good results with H4831. Max loads seem to shoot the best and try different primers.

H-4831 MAX according to QL is 55.7 gr, 3,434 fps, 62,873 psi.

Start at 50 gr and work up.

Thanks to all I found the sweet spot, 87 Berger VLD with H4831 and fed GM215 primers. 3/4 inch at 200 yards 3 shot group. Shot a second group for a check and it did it again.
Thanks
Brandon
