.236 or .237; HV or straight; 5R or 4-groove?

For competition rifles chambered for 6mm Dasher or 6mm BRA, what would you choose for 600 yard competition and why? I know that much of this is personal preference but I would love to know what others are using. Also, What twist do you prefer for the 105 to 108 class bullets commonly used for 600 yard Benchrest. Personally, I am shooting cut-rifled barrels (HV) with 8 twist and .236 bore and 4 grooves with Bart's Hammers in my 6 BRA. The person that will probably win shooter of the year at our club is shooting cut-rifled, 4-groove, 7.5 twist (Straight 1.25") with Berger and Bart's 105 bullets in his 6mm Dasher.

In my 6bra i us a brux bbl 7.8 twist 28 in hv with 103 vp or barts hammer 105 both shoots great will do more testing to see with is better can win matches with both.

I was told once that the 236 bore was better for longer heavier bullets, applying more pressure to spin and stabilise the bullet and the 237 for shorter lighter bullets. I’ve shot the Dasher and BRA in 236 with no issue and speed was always easy to get..

Edit: Was also told that there is enough variation in manufacturers tolerances for the difference between 236-237 to not mean a lot..

I dont THINK you can go wrong either way. People try one or the other and tend to stick with it when they get it to work.

I have had good luck with a skinny lot of hybrids a 237 5r's. And sierra 107s, and basically everything I have shoved in it, if you tune it up.

I've considered trying 237 4 groove, but if it aint broke......... lol
