.230 bullets

Does anyone have a line on .230 bullets? They a for a .230 LLF that a friend just acquired from his grandfather. It has the slickest seating die I've ever seen.

Thanks

Back in the days, 23 caliber bullets were all hand made. With all the good 243 barrels and bullets that have come along since then I think you are probably going to have a hard time finding anyone with the dies.

Before you start, you need to slug the barrel to get the exact diameter needed. I have seen the various .230 cartridges loaded with .230, .231, .232, .233, and .234 bullets. Bullet maker Ralph Sisk made his in .234" as I remember.

After you determine the diameter, contact a few of the custom bullet makers and ask if they know of anyone who has dies. A call to Corbin may get you there a lot quicker.

I have made a very few bullets by swaging down 243 bullets but that's not the best way to go if you want good accuracy. Best to start from scratch or swage up 224 bullets.

Good Luck
