.22x47mm

A friend is looking for info from anyone shooting a .22x47mmLapua. He doesn't do e-mail. He prefers talking to folks via phone. So, if you don't mind sharing, please send your phone # via PM or e-mail. Short and sweet replies on the open forum will be forwarded as well.
Thanks!

I bought a switch barrel rifle in 2011 and the barrel that was on it was a 22X47L. I bought the gun to use the action for another build as the 22X47L barrel had burned itself out in S. Dakota shooting PD's. But decided to play with it as the brass that came with it was prepped and all I had to do was dump powder and seat bullets. It was a 7 twist and I shot some 90 grain Sierra's out of it at 3,294 fps chroneyed. And 80 grain Bergers at 3,495 fps with 39.2 grains of RL-22 and 450 primers. Gun did not group well as barrel was cooked bad but I had to try it out before I dismantled it. Would make a heck of a 600 yard rifle and speed is there. But do not get the barrel hot. Kinda like a .220 Swift in being overbore. I sold the custom Redding dies and brass to forum member "Drags" here and he had his built last year and promptly shot a woodchuck at over 500 yards with his. He uses his strictly for LR varminting here in Pa. He may see this thread or PM him and tell him Frank sent you.

On the Home page, scroll down the the left column to "22-250" and open. At the end of the 22-250 article is a comparison of the .22-250 AI, .22-250 Rem and .22X47 L. Should cover most of the info your friend wants. Vic
