22ppc brass

I want to build a 22ppc to choot varmints with but I have a question. Should I be able to neck down my used 6ppc brass to 22? These brass were clicking with the 6ppc but want be as hot in the 22ppc and a remington action.

You want to build a NEW rifle, but recycle USED brass? Well, maybe when you have annealed the brass because it's work hardened,that's why it's clicking) and then set the shoulder back if it won't chamber in the NEW rifle, you could use the old brass. Or you could just buy some new brass and fireform it to fit the 22PPC chamber. If the cost of new brass is an issue, bring the old brass to the scrapyard and sell it to help fund some new brass. Actually, I have been known to use the hell out of PPC brass,over a hundred firings on each case), but I always use new brass for a new barrel.

I own a 22ppc, and have been taught to use new brass when fireforming. I watched a guy fireform used brass, he got case head seperation. If the price is what gets you, I think I seen some cheaper 220 russian brass in natchez shooter supply. Though you can use Lapua over and over and really saving money in the long run by just getting Lapua.

New 220 Russian Lapua brass is probably some of the best brass on the market right now. Buy 200 for your varmint rig. Check your chamber neck size, if you want to go no-turn, and fire form with a full load twice and trim to a steady length like 1.510 for 22 PPC. If not the best 22 cal out there then it is the best. Play on words but I would match the 22 PPC with any 22 on target or varmint. For powder try H322, H335, or N 133. WSR primers will do you fine. Most any 50-55 bullet, partial to the Berger 52 & 55. Light em up. I have 4 barrels dedicated to 22 PPC.
