22br/VV powders,help needed)

Im going to shoot 80 grain bullets with my new 22br riffle.I cant find any reloading information for Vihtavuori powders.What kind of VV should i use and how much?

In the 22BR, VV-135 works the best in my experience. Make sure your barrel twist will stabilize the bullet you want to shoot.

I am starting to shoot my .22BR with the 90gr. bullets. I have started shooting with VVN550 and it is shooting well with it. Quick Load is also showing two other powders that should work well with the 90gr. bullets. They are IMR-4895, and Ramshot Hunter. I have been finding that the heavy bullet loads for the .22BR seem to like the slower burn rate powders over the faster burn rate powders that would normally be used for the lighter bullet weights.

Yes,VV135 did the best job for me,1/4" groups at 100 meters!Sierra 80 grain bullet work's great.I can't wait to get to shoot 500 meter's and beyond...Iwould also like to try 90 grain bullet's but my barrel twist is 8",is it waist of time to try?,sorry about my BAD english)

Hey Mr. Bob,
Do you know anyone who has tried VV135, VV 140 or VV540 in a .22 Br with 40 grain bullets???

Hi Dave,

I have a friend who is shooting a 14" twist .22BR with the 40 grain bullets. But he has only tried a couple of different powders in it at this time. He has used Varget and Benchmark and reports great results with both of them. I would think that the powders you are looking at should prove to be great choices for this weight bullet in the .22BR. If you try these powders for you .22BR, let us know how they work out for you.
