22br H4350 Help?

Hello. I have recently had built a 22 br norma. On a savage 12 action Bartlein 5r 1-7.7 twist. Was hoping to shoot the heavier 80 gr vld or 85.5 hybrid. Worked up a couple loads with each bullet with Varget and just not getting the tight groups I expected from it. Was wondering if anyone is using H4350 or another powder with these bullets that could give me some help. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

I’m running H4350 with 80 Bergers.

33.5 is pushing it 3140 from a 25” barrel

IMR4350 gave me higher velocity and as good of accuracy with 34 grains I believe but it was too much of a pain gettin in the case

Thank you very much. I just loaded a laser test with it from. 30 gr of H4350 up to 33.gr . Hopefully something will work

yeeup.. i ended up using RL17 with the 90's, pushing the bullet if i remember correctly, around 3200

well i was running the 90's with 32.5 grains of RL17 so i would start some what below that for sure!

I went from 30 to 33 today with H4350. No pressure.

I don't get pressure until it's nuclear. It goes from fine to ejector swipes and HARD bolt lift in about 0.5gns. The higher you go, the more I'd urge caution. Do you have a chronograph going to get speeds? That can be a great way to understand when you're getting up there. There's no free lunch and if your chrono says 3200, that's getting to the top with 90gn class bullets.

I was able to drive the new 85.5 Berger much faster than any of the 90s. If you want a lot of speed, that could be a place to look. Also, RL17 gave me 3x larger groups than Varget, IMR4350, or IMR4064.

Thanks for the info. I am trying to run 80 gr vld. Varget didn’t do very good. So now I am trying H4350 . But picked up so rl 17 to try also
