22BR/69SMK velocity question

I am shooting the 69 gr. SMK in my Hart barreled 1/9 twist 22BR. I have tried Varget, 2230, VV150, and 4895 powder. I cant seem to get past the 3200 fps mark without showing too much pressure. Am I at my velocity threshhold or is there a better powder for this bullet weight????

l shoot tru flight 29 " 1 in 9 twist barrel , 75 amax, v150 30-9 grains and federal match primers , getting about 3340 fps, hope it helps, so shooting 69 heads you should be well over 3340 abt

what barrel length and how is the chamber throated ie what's your COAL?

QuickLOAD suggests that Viht N550 would give higher MVs than the powders you've tried, but the above pair of factors are pretty important. If you're running with a short-throated 22" tube, 3,200 fps may be your practical limit.

Laurie, I believe you are absolutely correct. I went out and tried Data 2200 today with the same results as before. So, a slower powder isnt helping nor is a faster powder. The barrel is quite short, and I dont know the COAL off the top of my head. So, 3200 fps it is.

This particular rifle has shot all the loads I have tried into ragged little holes. I havent bothered to measure but it is quite accurate and it doesnt seem to care what I feed it. I have pretty much decided to leave well enough alone.
