.225 winchester to .284 winchester

Will the 225 action work for a 284 rebarrel and chambering or is it too short. I’m sure the longest bullet used will be a 155 VLD hunting possibly seated up to .030-.060 longer than listed book COAL.
I appreciate all thoughts. It’s my nephew that wants to have a custom rifle made and hoping his .225 would be a good donor
