224 Valkyrie bolt head

I had a spare savage 223 9 twist 26 “ varmint barrel so I thought I would make a 224 Valkyrie prarie dog gun out of it.I read on here that you could open up a 223 bolt head to fit the Valkyrie so I tried it and it worked except the ejection clip is to long now. It didn’t grow!! Lol! But when I opened up the bolt face it leaves the clip further out into the face. It functions but it hard to bolt and I think it’s because of the clip. I love the gun. Shooting 50 gr tnt at 3550 ft/sec and 3/8” groups at 100yds. Is there a way shorten the clip or move it back a little? Are all savage ejection clips the same length from the ball?

When I built my 224 Valkyrie, I replaced the 223 bolt head with one for the 224 Valkyrie. I know you can get a new head from either PTG or Sharp Shooter Supply.
I believe all extractors and ejectors are the same in length.

I got my pt&g 224 Valkyrie bolt face in today and installed it. Barreled up the action, stocked it and shot it. Everything works perfectly!!! Sighting in and grouping it tomorrow!!!
