224 Valkrie

Has anyone done any work with 224 Valkrie in a bolt action?
I have it in a AR but been thinking about building a bolt gun to shoot it with lighter bullets like 52 gr,ELD or 62 gr. ELD and wonder with right twist how much gain would I get in performance with right bullet twist??? maybe go with a ackley version or just neck down to a 20 cal. instead. Not sure yet.

I built a Valkyrie on a Savage Target Action. I used the "standard" 1-7 twist, and have shot a variety of
bullets from 88grain Bergers to 50 grain Nosler Ballistic tips.

All the bullets shot less than an inch @ 100yds, after working up a load for each.

You will gain fps and have less pressure with slower twist.

If you want to go with a lighter bullet, I would check with the bullet manufacturer to see what they recommend for the correct twist for the bullet and go 1 inch faster twist.
