FYI.. This rifle was built for a prairie dog hunt that never happened. It consistently shoots small groups, and likes 62gr ELD-VT bullets. Recent target attached for reference.

The rifle was made by Bartlein Barrels

That target is at 100 yards. It was shot that same day at 500 & 1000 yards but I didn't get photos of those but I will say Shot a bowling pin and baseball sized rock at 1000 yards with it... Pretty impressive for a 223 i must say.

The powder is Vhitavuori N540

I'm wanting to build a 22BR to shoot that bullet, and you're within 100fps-150fps of the velocity that I want to get out of it, and the accuracy is looking pretty darn good.
 
Few questions...What's the bare rifle weigh? What is that grid looking thing on the side of the barrel? What's the COAL on the DBM?

To answer your questions…
  • The bare rifle weighs 11lbs 3.7oz
  • The grid looking thing is a temperature strip to monitor barrel temperatures. Its just a sticker if you want to remove it
  • The COAL on my magazines is 2.440”
By the way, I forgot to put in my original post that the DBM bottom metal is a Hawkins M5.
