223 vs 6x45 ?

Helo All

Currently shooting a 223 1:8T which i'm really liking, but somewhere in the back of my mind when i'm coming up to re barrel it, i'm thinking a 6x45 Im shooting 300 yard comps and have found a load of varget and 77 nosler CC that shoots well.
Never one to leave something shooting well enough alone, guess im looking for first hand reports if anyone is using something like the 69gr 6mm in there 6x45 and how they found it?
Am i getting new anything over a heavy 223 ?

Regards

DMC, the 6x45 is a great cartridge. I have a 24" Shilen 12T that loves Speer 70gr TNT's with Varget and CCI 450, mounted in a savage varmint rig. At 200 yards It prints .5 MOA from the bench, as long as I do my part. Low recoil and very comfortable to shoot. I also have a 24" Shilen 8T .223 in a Savage target action with over 1500 rounds of 70-82gr bullets pushed through it, the throat and muzzle don't show any signs of wear. How many rounds do you think it will take to wear out your barrel?

The 6x45 is a junior version of the 6x47 (222m/204 case)

of the choices I would go the 222m case as it has additional water capacity and is a proven BR winner in the 70-80 prior to the ppc

very accurate long bbl life and the 70s are the choice of br shooters

I built my 6x45 in 2011 and wished Id done it long ago.
I only run 3 bullets, 55g NBT, 65g VMAX and a 95g NHBT and they all run sub moas to 700 yards, so Im happy and the fact it just seems to put a extra whomp on coyote & antelope out here.
I don't shoot comps or the bullet you want though, BUT you wont go wrong with a 6x45.

i believe the water capacity of the 6x223 case is about 30.5 depending on the mfg.

the 6x 222m/204 is about 33gr
thus you should get a minimum of 4-5% higher velocity with the 222m/204 case especially with the heavier bullets above 55gr.

Which case is it that you are using to make into a 6x47, the 222 Magnum or 204 Ruger, and are you simply expanding the neck to 6mm while keeping the parent’s body dimensions and shoulder angle?
