223 tikka SV

I have a problem attaching a Harris bi pod on the tikka ? Fore arm to small it won’t tighten down enough the same bi pod works on my Sako S20 But fore arm is different maybe need different bi pod model ?

Not familiar w the models you speak of but is there any way to shim or use a spacer?

You can buy the wider forearm for the factory tikka stocks, if that is what you mean by too small. Otherwise your OP didn't explain the issue well enough

Ok yes that’s what I mean the stock is small in the area where it connects wider isn’t really the problem if fore arm was higher and wider it would help it just won’t tighten down far enough to the fore arm .

One solution is to bolt a small section of Picatinny to the fore end and and use the appropriate bipod.

Ok guys thanks I will have to look further in too it .
The sv has/had a little wider fore end on it. If anything it should have helped in your situation. The standard T3s is narrow as can be, I could possibly see a issue on one of those stocks if something was out of spec with the bipod

I have a Tikka Varmint model with the wide removable forearm. I removed the forearm since I shoot off a cross sticks and the stock fits better with that flat forearm removed.

However, I just tried my old Harris Bipod and it attached solidly to the Tikka Varmint factory stock (detachable forearm removed). The post from "SecondsCount" shows the bipod attached with the forearm intact. So, unless the SV model stock is substantially different, the bipod should attach solidly.

In the days when I shot with a bipod, eons ago, the Harris Bipod attached solidly to the forearms of Model 7 Rem stocks. So, something doesn't sound right with the OP's situation.

I've used Harris and Caldwell bipods on every Tikka I have owned with no issue. Have one on a T1X right now. Something doesn't sound right but without seeing its hard to say.

Ok thanks guys I better look at the bi pod and see if something is not right. Thanks for all info.
