223 PMC brass?

Found a few pieces of brass at the range. The box said PMC but when I got home the head stamp is PMD 22. If it is PMC it is sourced from Korea. It looks OK. The primers are crimped and treated with a red sealant. Can someone give me info on the brass.

I use PMC 223/556 brass in some rifles as that particular rifle/brass/load combo worked best, but I don't remember seeing any marked PMD, pretty sure all of mine is stamped PMC. Some were crimped (most) but not all. IF I find range pu marked PMC I usually keep it especially if the crimp is still intact when I deprime it.

My youngest daughter has a mauser mini action 223 from her younger years and it has a 12 twist. I seperated all the pmc brass and loaded 300 for her rifle with some 52 grain bullets . I loade 69s like MarkM with 69 grain SMKs. i have 600 or 700 SMKs left but I will be looking at RMRs. I bought SMKs at $18 per 100, now they are $35 per 100. There is no reason that justifies todays prices.

I've been using PMC since about '90, in the 22-250AI , back when you could actually get it. Then some years later for the 257Wby, and that stuff was/is the best. Also in the 6-250. Never used 223 but I'd trust it. My recollection is that it was made in the Philippines, but that memory could be faulty. Regardless, the stuff that I have is very good and I'd still buy it if available.

A few years ago when I first started shooting 223 as a medium range bench rifle I ran an unscientific test with LC, PMC, CFL, FC and Norma once fired brass all cleaned, prepared, processed and loaded exactly the same way, with the same components on the same tool set ups at the same time. 20pcs of each. Object was to see if this brass made any noticeable difference on target.

All were shot one round at a time round robin at separate targets. 5 shor groups at 4 targets. Result in my gun was that the Norma shot the best 4 groups, followed by the PMC and the LC was the least consistent with the largest spread. Would have been nice to been able to include some LAPUA but I didn't have any.

Right now I have 500pcs of Norma that I have been shooting and it has been loaded about 5 or 6 times already. I also have over 2k pcs of PMC that does not have a military crimped primer And will be starting on this soon.

I reloaded 10 rounds with varying powder charges and the PMC/stamped PSD shot OK, but not outstanding. I will save it for varmint loads.
