Don't really think ya need a 28" tube for shooting the 50s...if I were to build a 223 it would be another 223 AI..mine is a 26" 12 twist 3 groove SS SM Pac Nor..3500 fps w/Nosler moly 55s...talk to your barrel builder on the groove issue...all my varmint barrels are 3 groove with no problems...clean easy & fast...& shoot fast..in a variety of calibers from 20 VT to 260 AI...the AI will be no more accurate than the same barrel in std 223...its just 150-200 fps faster...and no case stretch..
