223 & h335

is h335 affected much by temperature? I use my 223 for winter rabbits and summer prairie dogs. There is a big temp difference and wondering if h335 would be the way to go for powder?

H335 is temp sensitive, but very accurate when it's in its favorite zone. H4895 or IMR 8208 or Bench mark are good powders that are not temp sensitive.

H 335 is a good choice accuracy wise for the 223 but like Range 3 says, I've experienced some pressure surges in very hot weather, 90+. For me H4895 or Varget is a better choice since I hunt predator in the winter and ghogs in the summer.

I develop my loads in the winter with H335 and usually back off about .2-.3 grains in summer. But this is CA, so it's 40-50° winter and 95-105+ in summer. Picking an accuracy node that has wide latitude, i.e. not changing group dispersion pattern on either side in you ladder test is a good way to go.

25gr under a 55gr bullet is a really good combo though.

My son's 223 bolt gun shoots one hole all day using 335.. I know a few others around here that use it exclusivly..
ZILLA HOW DOES IT DO AT 90+ DEGREES NEVER COULD GET THAT WITH MINE SHOT WELL IN COOL TEMP BUT NOT HOT DAYS IT WOULD OPEN UP !!!

It always shoots good even on hot days. Around here 90 is pretty warm but it does get that hot.. Don't recall shootin paper that hot, but there's a butt-ton of p-dawgs that'd testify, if they were alive..

That's my experience as well. And it meters really nicely.
