223 contender barrel twist?

Ok, so I recently got a contender and immediately started looking for a 14” barrel in 223 that is threaded. Today I found exactly what I was looking for and the price is right however it is 1:7 twist. Dang that is fast. I don’t plan on loading anything heavier than 55 grain. This will just be a fun toy that I will use for varmints.
Will this fast of a twist make any real difference shooting light bullets in a 14” barrel at 200 yards max? Should I just wait and have a custom 1:12 made?

I personally wouldn't worry about it. The military shoots frangible 50's through 14.5" 1:7's every day.

I run 40 grain v max in a 1-7.5 twist with nothing complaints. Admittedly I was skeptical till a buddy with a twin rifle as mine showed me what his did.

My 223 TC barrel sees little use any more, pretty boasts.

Yup,.. My 1-7 tw. 16", AR Barrel, shoots,.. 55 gr. NBT's, 60 gr. NBT's, 65 gr. SGK's and 69 gr. SMK's all into,..
Sub 1 MOA with, WW748 Powder. So, I'd have,.. NO, worries about, buying that barrel !

I have shot 40-grain bullets (V-Max) out of a 1-7" twist. They didn't shoot as well as out of my slower twist barrels, but they shot decently, surely well enough to hit small targets out to 300. None came apart.
