223 chamber question???

Im looking to order a 223 large shank barrel for a Savage PTA. Im interested in shooting bullets in the 69 gr- 75 gr range. I would like to know if you guys would recommend the standard rem chamber or should i go with the Wylde. Jim Briggs carries both. Pros and cons welcome.
Thank You

If it were me I would go with the Wylde because you have a bolt gun that can handle a longer OAL. Standard 223 Rem reamer has a short .025" free bore and a steep throat angle, which means your 75 gr bullets will be sitting way back in the case when the bullets hit the lands. The Wylde chamber has a .062" free bore and a mild throat angle which will allow you to take better advantage of the .223 case capacity using the larger 69 - 75 gr bullets. Std 223 Rem chamber was originally designed for the smaller 52-55 gr range bullets that's why Remington released it with 1:12" twist barrels..

This points out the difference in reamers and chambers. I have 3 Savage .223s, all with standard chambers, all shoot 80s with no problem in seating. All my bullets seat with the pressure ring outside the neck shoulder junction.
