223 barnes 62 grain help

I Finlay found some primers to start my first reload.i have a 223 AR rock river, wanted to load some Barnes 62 grain. i sized my lapua new brass, trimmed to 1.750.I loaded a dummy round to get my 2.250 coal. when i went to check the length of round the bullet pushed in further with the pressure of the Gage arms. I tried another case same thing. It seems the rim of the case is sitting on the large grove of the bullet, and a little pressure moves it.

What do i do,the bullets need to be magazine feed.

thanks

hello,if you are going to magazine feed your rifel get a coal that will load in your magazine then crimp them alittle.if not just keep loading them trying different coal's.or the neck is not tight enough to hold the bullet.

thanks, if the Manuel says max coal 2.560 how much can you deviate from that without effecting pressure?

If you can push the bullet by hand, I'd think your neck tension is not adequate for feeding with a magazine. Try different bushing and/or re-size the neck more down the length.

2.26 works in my PMags, but 2.255 works better.
