.223 Ackley vs 6 mm TCU

If you had to choose between the two, which would you go to? The 9 twist .223 A.l. or a 8, 9, or 10 twist 6 TCU? 77 grain in the .223 and 87 grain in the TCU. For p.d.

Have both. 6TCU with 55g hits harder than anything 223AI I've shot so far. 223AI 77g or any other non-varmint bullet would be a waste. 40-55g tops. 6BR with 55g-75g beats them both. 20 Prac 39-40g second favorite, puts on just as good of a show as the 223AI.

I'd stick with 10 twist in either 6TCU or 223AI. 14 is too limiting in bullet selection, 12 may or may not stabilize some of the longer 223 varmint bullets, 10 does.

I have pretty much the same, too. For a volume p-dog rifle, I'd say the 6x45AI would hold an edge over my .223AI. Both are 1:8 twist. One shoots 87Vmax, the other a 75Amax...
