223 Ackley Improved Load Data -26" barrel 1:8 Twist Load data

Hi All Just got my custom - 223 Ackley Improved Load Data-26" barrel 1:8 Twist - I need some starting loads to fire form and shoot varmint to small game 50grn-75grn - I am in Australia and use ADI powders or equivalent. Have Rem and federal BR small rifle primers.

I shoot RL 15 with 77 gr (223 AI at 23.5 grains, same load in my 223 AR15), but should work same for 75 gr. Lots of people shooting H335, Varget, and 8208. 223 not particular about powder. Start at lower end of reloading manual as usual, each rifle different (common sense) Scott

Man I wish you had access to more powders.....Not sure what the ADI equivalent of H335 is but that powder is lights out in my 223AI. 27.0 for fire forming and 28.5 grains for the AI load.

I'd give ADI a bell and ask them for pointers.
Looking through their 223 chart:

With the increased case capacity you have I'd be looking at their 223 compressed loads in the bullet weights you want to use. This will give you the best case fill percentages in your AI and it looks like 2206H and 2208 (Varget) might suit your needs. With your long tube I think either will work.
I shoot a Rem Model 7 with only a 20" tube so I've focused on something slightly faster; 2207.

50gr Nosler BT have been superb for our varmint popping.
For the guys here that want to stretch things out some, Berger 69gr have grouped a couple of inches out to 500yds.

BM2 (Hodgdon Benchmark) for 50g, fireform about 26.5g-27g, 3300-3400 fps, moderate pressure but fully formed case, let your case life/conscience be your guide on the full load. On heavier bullets BM 8208 (8208XBR) or 2206H (H4895) probably be your best bet. Over 70g go slower yet, 2208. BM2 and BM8208 are going to be very similar with lighter bullets.

In my opinion, using a more sensitive, thin cup non-magnum primer and new brass for initial fireform load, and loading to a moderate accurate pressure results in more consistent better formed brass that lasts longer.

With a 75 AMAX, I run TAC to fireform and Varget for full house.
Your chamber's freebore specs will determine how much if each you can run, safely...
