.222x35 Reamer

Before I get too deep into a new project, does anyone have a .222 x 35 degree finish reamer they would like to part with? I am running into a few issues trying to get one made.

Thanks

I BELIEVE he is looking for a .222 (Deuce) reamer with a 35* shoulder, so it would be for a .224 barrel......

BUT i have been wrong before..... :o

I have toyed with the idea of a .222 40* but have never done anything about it.

Wouldn`t the difference in neck length prohibit you from using a .223AI reamer run in short?????

Or would you move the shoulder that far forward??

Phil.

I don't know the length of the neck on a 222AI but, The other thing to consider is, .200 from the base of the case (where the chamber starts) on a 223 rem/223AI is .376 which is the same as the 222. Running a 223 reamer in short will have a smaller diameter of the chamber at that point. So I guess, in short it will not work.

Curious as to what you're trying to achieve by doing this? I recently did a Fireball with a 35 degree shoulder and was pleasantly surprised at the outcome! I'm planning on doing another rifle based on the same. Enjoy!

I've been shooting a 223x35 degree since 1994. Really fine cartridge. 3450 with a 50 Gr. from a 15" barreled Xp-100. Homer Culver's old reamers.

You won't be sorry. The 222-35 is one fine cartridge and the barrel will last forever. I had mine to over 3500fps using 50gr ballistic tips and it was a laser but hard on brass.

I had one years ago on a 40X action. Wish I never sold it. Had an old .222 which I bought new in 1968. Had thousands of rounds through it. Started to shoot eratic. Got a Shilen barrel and put it in an old 40X stock that I pillar bedded. I fire formed the Lapua cases and now have to work up a load. Starting with H322, 10X and 2015. Will see what happens.

Memories, memories. The first .223x35 I ever shot (and saw, for that matter) was a benchrest gun chambered by Homer, probably with those same reamers. That was about 1973 or 74.... Never saw a .223x35 that wasn't a tackholer, no reason a .222x35 should be any different.
