Hey guys

Wondering if yall can get me started or pointed in the right direction for 222 REM mag 1:14 twist shooting 40gr and 52gr.would 55s work as well? Google seems to pretty much just be made up of 222 Remington loads but haven’t had much luck with magnum variety. Any help is appreciated

I shot the 222 mag for more than 50 years. A 14 twist is marginal at best with 55 grain bullets especially if they are tipped bullets. From 52-55 grain bullets it's best to stay with the shorter flat base hollow point bullets. H335, H322, H4198 and the old standard W748 powders all work well in the triple deuce mag. with Nosler brass.

Dan Dowling trued my 700Rem actions and put 14tw Hart's on them. Two tight neck and 1 standard 255nd back in the late 80's. Dan questioned my mental wellness for turning all that brass. Anyone that knows me will tell you...........

The tight necks liked:

W748 28.8Gr 55gr V-Max

Standard liked:

W748 28.5Gr 50V-Max

When I ran out of 748 for the standard I went to:

CFE223 27.5Gr 50VMax

Switched one to a 22Br after bbl wore out. Great cartridge. Does anything a 22/250 will do...only better. With all the 6PPC bbls I have laying around if I rechamber again I'd go with a PPC. Lots of used brass in inventory. My rifles all weigh over 15# and the factory stocks have been widened to 3" for stability.
